What did you do this past week?

This past week was pretty enjoyable for me. I had to finish up and turn in the project for this class. After that, I didn’t really have much to do in school, so I spent a lot of time playing some basketball and going to class. I also attended my classes and did homework for those classes.

What’s in your way?

Not much is really in my way this week. I have some assignments coming up that are due soon and a test, but other than that, I have a pretty nice week ahead of me.

What will you do next week?

Next week, I will continue to attend classes. I have a test I need to work on and some assignments I need to do. I will also start working on the next phase of the project for this class with my group and start to learn some of the new skills and materials needed for that phase.

If you read it, what did you think of Ethical CS?

I have not read it yet, but I’ll definitely check it out later tonight. I have heard a lot of good things about it.

What was your experience of functions, lambdas, and decorators?

I felt like I had a pretty good experience with the concepts of functions, lambdas, and decorators. I think Professor Downing did a great job of conveying all the information needed to understand these concepts. There is still a little bit about decorators that I’m unsure about, but I will rewatch the lecture and do some research of my own to better understand it.

What made you happy this week?

Something that made me happy this week was the cold weather this weekend. This was a surprise, as I didn’t expect the weather to turn this cold because it was pretty hot pretty much the whole week. Also, some of my friends from out of town came to Austin this weekend, and I got to spend some time with them as well.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My tip of the week is to step outside for a couple minutes and go on some walks. I have been doing this recently, and I feel like it has been really helpful and stress-relieving especially during this time of midterms and recruiting. Also, the weather is becoming pretty nice now, as the Texas hot summer is almost over. Going on these walks have been very therapeutic and a good break from school work.
